The main goal of the conference is to promote research activities on Space and Atmospheric Science (Solar Physics, Planetary Science and Space Exploration, Ground-based and Space-based Measurements) and Technology (Remote Sensing, GPS, Pico Satellites, Rockets) in the Maharashtra and other states of India as well.

In order to promote the Space and Atmospheric research and their applications, many experts from IITM, ISRO (SPL, SAC NARL, PRL), IISc, IUCAA, TIFR and IIG will be invited to give talks and discuss about collaboration with participants.

The conference also aims to promote national collaboration between SGU and Indian research institutes and Universities as well, through extensive discussion among participants.
